An ice maker is a device inside a refrigerator that produces ice. Some refrigerator models feature built-in ice makers, meaning that the machine can automatically create ice for use or for storage. Stand-alone ice makers may also be freestanding countertop appliances that make and store a variety of ice categories, from flakes to cubed to crushed.
